Cricket Club

Bishop’s Stortford Cricket Club was formed in 1825 at Cricketfield Lane and is believed to be the only cricket club that has occupied the same ground for two centuries.

There are 4 senior men’s teams, 2 senior ladies teams and many junior teams (boys and girls).

We have three cricket grounds including the recently completed junior ground, which has allowed us to increase the number of matches held to over 300 in 2023.

The BSCC 1st XI play in the Saracens Hertfordshire Premier League, finishing 4th this year and the Ladies 1st XI play in the Womens Cricket Southern League Division A, also finishing 4th year.

New players are always welcome!

Tennis Club

Bishop’s Stortford Lawn Tennis Club is one of the leading tennis clubs in Hertfordshire and has been providing tennis facilities for over a century. Our facilities are excellent with 5 floodlit astro courts, 3 floodlit hard courts (which are covered by a bubble over the winter), 2 new floodlit artificial clay courts and 6 grass courts.  In addition, two Padel courts are currently under construction.

The Club caters for all ages and standards of players, from the age of 2 (from Pre-School Tots to the LTA Youth Programme starting with blue ball then onto red, orange and green mini-tennis and yellow ball) to adult beginners to advanced. As well as coaching and competitive team tennis, there are specific club sessions throughout the week: men’s mornings; ladies’ afternoons; mixed club sessions; and tennis rungs for the more competitive. There are junior coaching and training sessions every weekday afternoon and weekend mornings. In short, there is something for everyone!

We currently have approximately 700 members and we enter teams into the Herts & Aegon Leagues, Small Clubs, Hot Rackets and Junior Herts League.
